This photo was inspired by work I saw at worth1000.com. They have tutorials there for anyone who is interested in digital photo manipulation. I’m far too interested in surreastic realism (a term I just made up) for my own good. I like to take the mundane and add a touch of surrealism to it. What could be more mundane than me reading a book?
I had the distinct advantage of being able to set this shot up. Being able to take several photos; one of me reading, another of the background, and several of just my sunglasses and various insides of shirts and socks. I think it’s a good attempt for my first shot at an “Invisible.” However, I think the real talent involves being able to do the same thing without being able to get the background stuff. There are some fantastic invisibility photos on worth1000.com.
Although I do think I did a pretty good job here, I consider it a work in progress. I had a terrible time getting the socks right. I have come up with an idea for getting them better, so hopefully I’ll be able to fix them later on.
In the meantime, Happy Half-Nekkid Thursday!
