First, I want to take a moment to express my thanks for all the great comments I’ve received from everyone over the course of my participation in HNT. There’s nothing more rewarding than when you work on something for a while and then get appreciation for it when you’re done. You know, after a couple of hours of staring at the same thing, you start to wonder if what you’re working on is really worth it. The idea starts to wear down on you, and you wonder if it’s even funny, anymore. Then you finish it, and post it, and get fresh reactions from others, and that’s when you realize that what you were working on was pure, utter genius.

No, seriously, that’s when you are able to get a fresh perspective on your work. Sometimes the reaction isn’t what you were hoping for, and sometimes it is. In the case of this week’s post, I got what I was hoping for, and I certainly appreciate it.

One of the worst things about being the creator of a piece of art or writing or something is that, as the creator, you will never have the opportunity to see the finished work for the very first time as your audience does. It really is a big disadvantage. You see the work from start to finish, and eventually you get so used to it that it’s not fresh anymore. In fact, you sometimes get bored with it. The reactions of your audience helps refresh your perspective.

On another note, I want to let you know that this blog may be unavailable for a day or so over the coming weekend. I am considering changing the domain name that I have registered for my primary site, which this blog runs off of. The address to this blog won’t change, but the name change that I expect to make will affect the availability.
