I took this picture of my daughter using a mode on my camera that brings out the background of night images. I believe it opens the shutter and then strobes the camera flash twice to get the effect. It’s only really good for stills, and Monkey is by no means still at any given moment. The result was this in-camera special effect that is a very realistic ghost image. That’s right…this is not digitally manipulated in any way. I never thought it to be possible to get this kind of in-camera effect with a digital camera. I was wrong. Be warned, if you are using dial-up and you click the image, the link will take you to a 1024X768 version and may take some time to download.
I was thinking of using this for my next HNT, but I have a special surprise in store this week. I’m looking forward to it.
