For those of you who might be running WordPress blogs (either through wordpress.com or on your own servers) and have problems with comment spam, you might be interested to know about akismet. It’s a cool, free service which interacts directly with WordPress-based blogs. It filters out potential comment-spam and holds them for moderation, giving you the opportunity to either mark it as notspam (I just made that up. If Sam is allowed to make up her own words, then so am I) or delete it completely. It never has to show up in your blog at all.
Blogger folks will have to continue with whatever system they’re using, I guess.
This WordPress stuff is way cool. I only wish someone (Eidi) told me about this sooner. HA HA!
