I know, I know, I’m nearly fully clothed here. But really, there was no way I was getting anywhere near half-nekkid out there in Legoland. Despite being in California, they kind of frown on people taking off their shirts right there in the middle of the park. At any rate, by now you probably know that I am a big fan of Legos and Legoland. So it shouldn’t surprise you one bit that I absolutely had to make myself mini and hop on board one of the Miniland boats. Fortunately, one of my sons had the camera waiting and was ready to snap the photo before I was ushered off the boat by the Miniland Lego Police (MLP).
For grins and giggles, I decided to try a different software to see if I could make this photo. BSOholic has been using this software for his work. It’s called The GIMP. it’s essentially the defacto photo manipulator for the Open Source Software community. I’ve been looking at the Open Source world for some time, to see if I could make it work for me (Open Source has its problems, but I won’t go into them here). Anyway, I decided to use The GIMP under Linux to see if the results would equal what I’ve done under Paint Shop Pro in Windows. The jury is still out on this. On the one hand, I don’t like the interface for The GIMP and I’m not sure I like the results of my efforts. I think Paint Shop Pro produces slightly better images. But I have to admit that the Open Source community has produced quite a good piece of software with The GIMP. Whether I adopt it full time is yet to be seen, but it’s definitely a good backup in a pinch.
Happy HNT, everyone! As usual, click the blue HNT button on the sidebar to find out more ’bout all this half-nekkidness.

Great pic! Cool you used Gimp! I like it, but I’d like to upgrade to a Adobe. I hear that Gimp is about equivalent to Photoshop Elements. Beats me though.
Great job on the pic (and thanks for the shout out)! Happy HNT

*LOL* That’s awesome!
As far as that writing sample thing goes, I have no idea what the point is. Maybe just to see what everyone’s handwriting looks like?
