I am writing this from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, in Phoenix, AZ, which seems to an appropriate location for it. I arrived here at about noon on Saturday, after what is arguably the worst flight I have ever been on. This isn’t to say the flight itself was terrible. It was smooth except for the parts which weren’t, which was pretty much the whole flight. We’re talking about a five hour flight, folks. It was also full, which meant I did not get my obligatory free upgrade to first class. I had to sit in the back of the plane with a very pleasant woman and a guy with a cat. I did not make that up. A cat.

At least they offered us to trade a stale sandwich lunch meal for $7.00 of our money.

Anyway, the mere fact that I can whip out my laptop here at the gate during my two hour layover for a flight to Tucson and post something on the Internet is way cool. Oh and speaking of that layover, let’s analyze that situation real quick. I’m waiting two hours in Phoenix, to catch a 40 minute flight to Tucson, AZ - a mere 99 miles away - at which time my wife and children will pick me up and drive me home - a mere 75 miles away.

I drive 75 - 85 MPH. There is something ironic about the fact that I could actually drive home faster than I can fly there. Is this a wonderful world, or what?

    That is pretty ironic.

I knew a friend who was flying to Hawaii and they had to drive to Houston for this flight. So he drove from Dallas to Houston (4 hours) to get on a plane that flew right back to Dallas for its connecting flight to Hawaii. Thats just a waste. Glad you have had a good trip..but I bet its nice to be home.

Okay, so the last comment I left on your previous post was way late and after the fact, so disregard, please. I hope you had a nice homecoming and your family was happy to see you. Sorry that your flight was bad.

I’ve got an Amazon gift certificate burning holes in my pocket,
and I want to get the most bang for my buck.

Enter the Secret Amazon Web Pages:

    http://bargains-hunter.blogspot.com/2007/10/how-to-find-bargains-at-amazons-secret.html
    Bargains Hunter

This is where you’re going to find the “latest sales, rebates, and limited-time offers” from
Amazon, and you can score some pretty deep discounts if you’re a savvy shopper.

Next, there’s the special Sale link. This is open every Friday, and ONLY on Fridays.

You can find the same good discounts here as you would in hidden Deals, although some
Fridays you can really get lucky and make off like an Amazon bandit - I’ve seen discounts
there as low as 75% off sticker price.
