Over the course of the last week, I have been hinting at, but not necessarily directly addressing, problems with my cooler and leaking roof. The truth is, those are very different issues, but none the less directly related to the fact that I have had to spend craploads of money to deal with such annoyances as ceilings. What has happened is the following:
- The sealant between the copper tubing from my defunct solar water heater system and the roof developed a crack which allowed water to pour into the attic. I'd like to thank a very recent, totally necessary, massively huge thunderstorm for helping us discover this leak. That was most helpful.
- A completely unrelated situation involving my 25-year-old plus evaporative cooler helped me to discover that there is a massive amount of rust in the ductwork coming from the cooler and going to the rest of the house. I'd like to thank my now sagging and damaged ceiling for alerting me to this situation. I have replaced the cooler, and will probably need to replace the ductwork as well. This is not a job for DIY-Man.
- Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is still on schedule for a Summer 2007 release
Alert SchadeBLOG Reader: Mr. SchadeBoy. What does bullet number three have to do with your ceiling and water leaks?
Me: Absolutely nothing.
ASR: Oh, okay. Just checking.
Anyway, as it stands my ceiling and possibly my ductwork are the only remaining issues at hand that need to be dealt with. The ductwork will require a professional opinion and workmanship to complete. As handy as I am, I'm too lazy to attempt that kind of repair. However, I'm more than willing to tackle a demolition job. With that, I present to you my HNT for this week. No photoshopping here. Not enough time for that. But as you can see, I had fun with it anyway.
Happy HNT!

Oh man, I hate that! I came home from 11 days vacation to find that my ceiling had finally been painted after waiting 5 years……
Took me 6 hours to clean up the mess that the painter left!
I supposed I should be grateful, my ceiling is white and clean!
Lets just stay away from the bullets eh?
HHNT Schadeboy!

Unusual HNT theme. Surprised you have time to blog. The hand holding the screwdriver seems to echo the waving flag on the wall. Postmodern or what? HHNT
