Twins HNT

August 9th, 2006 · 16 Comments

Not many people know this, but I have a twin.

His name is Doug.  Doug was always such a great older brother to me.  He was born about 6.36 minutes before I was.  Despite the obvious similarities between us, Doug was never quite as outgoing as I was.  Oh, he excelled at sports - especially football.  That guy could make a touchdown every single time he got the ball.  Every single time!.  He was real good at baseball, too.  But he never really hit it off with the girls and was always a little self-conscious about his size.  He never really said much.  Well, at least we don't think he did.  We couldn't really hear him all that well, to be honest.  What, with his mouth being nearly the same altitude as a cruising Boeing 747.  But don't ever let him catch you pushing me around.  He always stood up for me, Doug did.

After highschool, Doug got a job with Phelps Dodge Mining Corporation.  He was in charge of digging the open-pit mines that the corporation uses for its mining operations.  He was exceptional at it, and was always saving the company money on mining equipment.  He was promoted quickly, and soon became the manager of all of their mining operations.  That's when tragedy struck.  One day, Doug dug a hole that was too big, and he fell into it.  He can't get out, and his size makes it impossible for anyone to help him.  That was 15 years ago.  To this day, Doug remains in the hole he dug.  Poor Doug.  That's him in the picture below.  His pit is just over those mountains.  I visit him every week.

Thanks to all my fans for overlooking the obvious problems with this photo.  For instance, the mere fact that a giant the size being protrayed here would have his head literally in the stratosphere and be several miles tall is one thing.  Let's not even mention that there is not enough air at that altitude to support a being of this size, or that a pit deep enough to hold such a massive beast would most likely be lower than the bottom of the ocean.  We'll not mention those things at all, and simply marvel at the awesomeness that is this picture.  Happy HNT, everyone!

Scahdeboy:   I think that a lot of us can have real empathy for your brother.  People have discriminated against us.    Let your brother know that" everyone is different. And that we have experienced predjujizzes.  But what really matters is that you stay true to yourself.  And if anyone makes fun of that, then they are just…well you know.    It is just a fact of life that sometimes we dig ourselves holes that we can't escape from.  This is called experience.  Tell your brother to hang in there.
