This past week, I've been working away from my office. It was great to get out of the normal routine and do something different. I do admit that I missed having an internet connection, but only a little bit. I had a lot of "down time" during this past week. Much of my time was spent watching others get their equipment working. So during my time waiting, I worked on AutoCAD. I'm writing a novel. It's science fiction. It takes place about 175 years into our future. The main character has a spaceship. Much like Han Solo has the Millennium Falcon, my character has his own ship which I'm hoping will actually become just as much a character as the Falcon has for Star Wars. So I want to make sure that the ship is technically accurate so that everything that I want in the ship can actually fit within the design I have in mind. So I'm using AutoCAD to draw it out. It's really cool to see the ship come to view as I picture it.
Anyway, I digress. The point here is I had something to do besides browse the net and read blogs. But I also got to spend some time in an area that gave me an amazing demonstration of nature. The wide-open space gave us grand views of our majestic mountains, as well as making us unusually exposed to the lightning that came during the monsoon storms. Our location got rained on a lot, and left us in a huge mud puddle. The photo below shows our location just after a massive downpour. I think it's just cool. I love that you can see the reflection of the sky in the water.
I plan to chronicle my week in the coming days. I have plenty of interesting stories and photos to show. Including one of a rattlesnake. Stay tuned.

That is a cool photo. I wish we had enough rain to make a puddle.
