As many who have come by here know, there is a wealth of bloggers out there who are posting tributes to individuals who lost their lives because of the senseless, selfish, thoughtless, and downright evil acts of terrorism brought on by a few stupid people.  It comes to mind that there is such a huge loss of incredible people that it's unfathomable.  I still have trouble with the concept. Nearly 3,000 people gone in an instant.  These tributes have helped bring these people home to me.  The words I have read of the few sites I could visit over the course of the last 24 hours have made these men, women, and children all the more real to me.  They were so very real to the families and friends whom they knew and loved.  Now I have had a chance to get to know them a little more.  And for that I am very grateful.

The people who perpetrated this attack five years ago, and the ones that have happened since, in my mind have absolutely no concept of compassion and love.  They might say they do.  But they are wrong.  They are just plain wrong.  They know nothing of love.  They know only hate, greed, and evil.  For them to say they know love is spit in the face of every man, woman, and child that they killed in that attack.

I find it hard to accept any religion that advocates the killing of innocent people.  Especially children.  How can you say that your god is a god of love when the doctrines of your beliefs suggest to you that it's okay to kill even children?  I hope to Heaven that I never understand that.
