In continueing with the theme started last week, here is another publicity still from a great 70's/80's show. You all know Ponch and John. But you probably don't know about Smiley, played by your's truely. The problem is, they cut my scenes from the episode that introduced my character. My character was like Angel from The Rockford Files, or Leo Getz from the Lethal Weapon movies. Sort of the oddball but highly loveable sidekick wannabe that never quite gets the respect he truly deserves even though he plays pivotal roles in undercover operations that ultimately lead to getting the bad guy.
I'm not sure why they cut my part. I heard rumors. Everything from me wanting too much control over the production (I only wanted to the be the director) to me being too darned good looking and taking the limelight from Erik. It didn't matter. I didn't want to work for them, anyway.
