Is SchadeBLOG Still Alive?

January 20th, 2008 · 2 Comments

The short answer is, yes, I’m still here.  I have a new resolution to start making relavent posts on this blog again.  It’s just been really hard to do so.  I basically have three jobs, right now.  My real job during the day, my teaching gig at the local college on some weeknights, and my full-time position as Owner and Chief Information Officer of Twilight Teez, LLC, the business my wife and I run.  It’s been one crazy holiday season and we’re still playing catchup.  I’m hoping that things will calm down some soon, and I’ll be able to work on getting some real good quality posts going on here.  I’m anxious to get back into writing.  I miss it, and I’ve got a few good stories to tell.

Thanks to those who haven’t given up on me.  I hope to get back to this very soon.

It’s Been A Month Since My Last Post

December 6th, 2007 · 2 Comments

And all I can say is, go over here to see what’s been keeping me so freakin’ busy!

The business has been unbelievably busy these last few weeks.  The Christmas Season is upon us, and has hit with a vengeance.   We went from having a mere 20 orders a day (which didn’t seem so mere back then) to having nearly 200 a day!  So, yeah.  We’re a bit on the busy side right now.

I hope come January, I can start on a more regular posting schedule again.

Some things I need to talk about here:

1 - My encounter with the world famous Dave Barry

2 - Chasing Rabbits

3 - DIY Hell and Other Horrors of Home Ownership

4 - There is no number 4

I hope to get to these soon.  No promises.  But I hope you’ll come back every now and then to see if I am active here again.

Random Thought Of The Day

September 28th, 2007 · 1 Comment

If you happen to be (as I am) sitting at your work/school/whatever desk today completely bored, and you also happen to have a container of soda, do this: take a swig of the soda and don’t swallow it.  Let it sit in your mouth for a few seconds.  Soon you will notice your mouth starting bloat up as the carbon dioxide gas is released from the soda and into the miasma of your digestive portal.  It’s kind of strange.

This has been your Random Thought Of The Day.

You Are Not Forgotten

September 21st, 2007 · 1 Comment

As a child, I never really understood how important our soldiers are to our country. I always knew that there was something about them that was to be honored and that they served a key roll in providing me with the ability to ride my bicycle in peace, and play with my friends without fear, and basically live my life in total blissful ignorance of what the rest of the world had to face. But I never really truly understood the kind of sacrifices these valiant men and women make to allow me to pursue my dreams.

To be honest, it’s a life that I could never be a part of, myself. As much as I like to think that I’d make a good soldier, I just don’t think I’m cut out for military life. But I honor those who are. Now that I’m an adult and working on an Army post and surrounded by people who did/do serve our country, I am far more aware of the things that these men and women do for us. The incredible sacrifices that these people make are beyond my imagination. The time away from their families, and the hardships that many of them have to endure, just so I can continue to sit here on my rump and write this blog entry. Our soldiers, especially those deployed to the front lines, are out there worrying about whether or not they will come home and see their spouses and children again. Sometimes it makes my concerns seem so…trivial. I am forever grateful for the service they have put in for us. Thank you to all who serve.

Today is POW/MIA Remembrance Day. And so I take this time to offer my own small tribute to those who served and never came home. You are noble and valiant people. I, for one, will never forget.

And Yet, I Talk About Such Adult Matters…

September 17th, 2007 · 2 Comments

I find this to be completely irrelevant. I think this thing is only counting the use of swearing, not actual content. Because, darn it if I don’t say some of the funniest adult-related stuff. Like pig smegma!
